On behalf of the LOWq Workshop Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to attend and participate in:

LOWq: Workshop on Electromagnetic Nuclear Reactions at Low Momentum Transfer

Thursday August 23 - Saturday August 25, 2001
Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada

Jointly sponsored by Saint Mary's University
  MIT-Bates Linear Accelerator Center

Information on the workshop can be found at the website
http://www.ap.stmarys.ca/LOWq
Registration and accommodation information can be found there, along with information on Halifax and tourism opportunities in the area.

Please note the following important dates:
June 30th, 2001: Deadline for abstract submission for contributed talks or posters.
July 23rd, 2001: Last date for hotel reservations at workshop rate.
August 16th, 2001: Registration deadline.

Scientific Program:

There will be a mix of theoretical and experimental talks in each of 6 sessions, with the emphasis on existing and foreseeable opportunities for doing high-precision physics at low momentum transfer. An updated list of confirmed invited speakers can be found on the website.

Further, there is room for two Contributed Talks per session.
**
If you wish submit a Contributed Talk, please send a title and brief abstract by email to lowq@ap.stmarys.ca .
**
If there is sufficient interest, a poster session will be added to accommodate any Contributions not able to be scheduled as a talk.

Additional Information:

Talks will be scanned and put on the web for easy access and reference, and a
CD-ROM with all talks can be requested at cost.

Nova Scotia is a lovely place to visit in August, and there is a link to
tourism information should you be interested in spending more time here.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please send email to the workshop
at lowq@ap.stmarys.ca .

Please distribute this registration information to your students, colleagues,
and any other people who might have an interest in precision low-momentum
electromagnetic physics.

We hope to see you in Halifax this summer!
